Modernist Bread at Home by Nathan Myhrvold and Francisco Migoya will be released next month! Created by the same team behind the James Beard award-winning Modernist Bread, Modernist Bread at Home helps home bakers fit bread making back into their weekly routine. This single, 420-page volume compiles practical techniques, foundational recipes, and scientific insights – all the result of hundreds of experiments – which have been updated and tailored specifically to the needs of home bakers. The team has applied its unique brand of rigor to making this comprehensive yet approachable book. We are happy to share an with you.

Last week, I shared details regarding Yotam Ottolenghi’s new title Ottolenghi Comfort which will be released in the UK in September and in the US and CA in October. His worldwide events (UK/Ireland, North America and Europe) have been shared to our calendar as well.

Back in 2019, we learned that Ina Garten was working on a memoir. The untitled (as of yet) memoir will be published by Celadon in October of this year. We will update our Library Record when the title and more details are available.

    I am so excited to see that Sarah Kieffer has another book coming out!! I just love her books and blog! I am also excited to see that Julia Turshen has another book coming out. I recently discovered her books from some recommendations on the forum and I have really enjoyed reading through them (adding a few recipes to try next week)! Despite already owning the original Cake Bible, I will certainly pick up the anniversary edition.

    Seeing Italian American Forever by Alex Guarnaschelli on the list has me thinking that I haven’t read any of her books…I’m off to check and see what my library has byher.

    I just decided to get serious about learning bread, so I am looking forward to Modernist Bread at Home. Their approach works for my engineer’s brain and I need all the illustrations I can get on learning the physical skills.

    Interesting to see that the American edition of Ottolenghi’s Comfort has a photograph rather than an illustration. I wonder, even with the stratospheric pull of a new cookbook by the man himself even an Ottolenghi can’t over-rule the publicity dept. (assuming he’d want to of course)

    I am about to post some reviews for a few Ina recipes I’ve made this week and it made me think of this article and the mention of her upcoming memoir. She has been putting out a new cookbook every two years pretty consistently so this would be the year for another book. I wonder if this memoir will push back any forthcoming cookbooks.

    Just noticed that due to overwhelming demand/anger? in the US & Canada the publishers of Ottolenghi’s Comfort are allowing people in those regions to pre-order the “UK’s Abstract Colourful design” cover if they wish via the publishers website. Wonder what the split will end up being?
