German Heritage Baking Cookbook Giveaway

Enter our US giveaway to win one of two copies of German Heritage Baking: Time-Honored Recipes, Traditional Techniques, and Culinary Secrets by Heidrun Metzler.

German Heritage Baking: Time-Honored Recipes, Traditional Techniques, and Culinary Secrets by Heidrun Metzler was a labor of love. The author spent ten years preserving inherited tips, techniques, ingredient knowledge and recipes. Heidrun was born and raised in Germany where she comes from a family of women who love to bake (her mother, aunt, and grandmother were her teachers!). She has been creating her own recipes with an American influence since moving to the US as a young woman (over 45 years ago).

Along with a wealth of information, the book shares 64 recipes which include pies, cheesecakes, tarts, cookies, tortes, strudels and more. Some recipes are spread over several pages as Heidrun provides lovely headnotes, numbered detailed instructions, tips and notes. Sprinkled in she provides QR codes to helpful videos on certain techniques. Recipes include Almond paste crescents, Mocha sponge cake roll, Quark cream torte with mandarins, Strawberry yogurt cream torte and loads more.

I am hopeful that Heidrun is working on a Volume 2 of German baking as the cover of this title is noted with “Volume 1”.

German Heritage Baking is also part of the ckbk collection and is the featured cookbook in their #ckbkclub.

Special thanks to the author for providing two copies of this title in our promotion. Entry options include answering the following question in the comments section of this blog post.
