KitchenAid makes a bold move with its newest mixer
September 14, 2024 by DarcieIt’s no secret that I am a KitchenAid stan – I have a 7 quart Professional and most of the accessories that they offer. Even though I have a standard color (Empire Red), I never had mixer envy even when a gorgeous new hue hit the scene – until now. KitchenAid’s latest stand mixer is a knockout but it is more than just the machine’s color that grabbed my attention: the bowl is wooden!
The 2024 Design Series Stand Mixer is a deep forest green with a matte finish, which I’m on the fence about. There is no denying that the color, combined with the brass-plated hub cover and trim band with a subtle leaf motif, is striking. But what really sets this mixer apart is its walnut wood bowl. KitchenAid’s press release says that “Evergreen brings the beauty of nature to your countertop as it connects you with the outdoors every time you enter the kitchen.” It’s utterly gorgeous, and KitchenAid says that the walnut bowl is as easy to maintain as any wooden utensil or surface, requiring only a few swipes with wood conditioner to keep it looking good.
This is the biggest change that KitchenAid has made in years. While I think the bowl would look fantastic on my kitchen counter, I prefer the bowl-lift models and the power of my 7-quart mixer so I will only admire this from a distance. There is no indication they will make a wooden bowl available for the bowl-lift / Professional series models. What do you think of the latest addition to the KitchenAid pantheon?
