2024 JBF Restaurant/Chef nominees, Humanitarian of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award announced, EYBD Previews, and more

On April 3rd, James Beard announced the 2024 Restaurant and Chef Award nominees and the honorees of the Leadership Awards, Humanitarian of the Year Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award. Please see the James Beard link to see the nominees for each region.

Humanitarian of the Year Award goes to The LEE Initiative, an organization that promotes diversity, equity, and empowerment for employees within the restaurant industry. The LEE Initiative was founded by Edward Lee and Lindsey Ofcacek.

The 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award honoree is the inimitable writer, editor, novelist, and television personality Ruth Reichl.

Winners will be celebrated at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Tickets for the Restaurant and Chef Awards will be on sale starting April 9, 2024! For updates, visit JBF’s Awards page. The Restaurant and Chef Awards will be livestreamed on Eater on Monday, June 10.

Nominees for the James Beard Media Awards will be announced on April 30, 2024.
