Helpful features and tips for using EYB including adding books to the Library; recipes and more
January 5, 2024 by JennyHappy New Year! Since we have new Members joining, I’d like to go over a few helpful features in this new year. First, please bookmark this article which is updated each time a new feature is added to Eat Your Books. It can be found on the Home Page as well.
A member in the EYB Cookbook Club recently asked two questions 1) Why does EYB do previews on a title that is not indexed? and 2) What is ckbk?We do previews on titles to give our Members a look inside upcoming and current books. Those books may not qualify for indexing but may be of interest to many Members. The bonus is that EYBD Preview recipes are now indexed and can be added to your Bookshelf. With regard to his second query, ckbk is a cookbook subscription site where you can access the full content of more than 800 great cookbooks, the majority of which are indexed here on EYB (and more will be indexed periodically). Every book in the EYB Library that is also on ckbk now has a ckbk logo with a link to the full book – see photo above. For more information, please see this article EYB and ckbk are linking up.
Lastly, regarding manually adding cookbooks to the Library. Please know that most current and popular books are already entered in the Library and most are indexed. Before manually adding a book, search for the ISBN or book title – and if not available – using the ISBN try our automatic import function before adding manually. For more information on adding books manually when you do not have an ISBN or that book may be a non-English title, please see this article. If you manually add a book and we have a question, be sure to check your spam or junk email folders for emails from us.
