2,500,000 recipes indexed
November 9, 2023 by JaneWhen we launched Eat Your Books in 2009 I couldn’t have imagined we would grow the site into what it is today. We launched with 550 cookbooks indexed (about 92,000 recipes) and in the years since we have added almost 6,000 magazine issues and the indexed books total is almost at 13,000. Plus of course 470,000 online recipes. Whew!
This achievement is due to the hard work of a team of dedicated professional indexers, managed by Jenny and our wonderful volunteer member indexers, managed by Sydney. You never know when you see a newly indexed book or magazine who it has been done by – but I think we can all appreciate the amount of work that goes into creating an index. Our professional indexing team has changed over the years – our thanks go to our current team (in order of longitude of service) Jenn, Kerrie, Deb, Donna, Pat, Astrid, Helen, Nikki, Nancy, Lynne, Heather, and Lisa. Plus thanks to all the indexers from prior years. The member indexers are too many to mention but are just as appreciated.
