This week: Food Season at British Library, events, recipes and EYBD Previews

In the US:

- Claire Ptak will be promoting Love is a Pink Cake: Irresistible Bakes for Morning, Noon and Night with events at Omnivore Books on May 7th and Archestratus Books on May 9th.
In the UK, Food Season at the British Library starts April 17th and runs until June 5th. We have added the events planned on our calendar and an abbreviated version appears below:
- Apr 14 – The Multiple Lives of the Sandwich with Rebecca May Johnson, Nigella Lawson and Jonathan Nunn
- Apr 17 – Chinese and British: Food Stories with Ken Hom, Angela Hui, Jeremy Pang, Helen Tse and Andrew Wong
- Apr 24 – Feeding the World, Farming the Planet
- May 15 – Food on Social Media with Poppy O’Toole, Chetna Makan and Itamar Srulovich.
- May 17 – Eating for the Elderly
- May 22 – From Farm to Fork with The Black Farmer Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, plus Thomasina Miers and guests
- May 23 – After Hours at Borough Market with Angela Clutton and others
- May 24 – Fermentation with Alissa Timoshkina, Sandor Ellix Katz, James Read and others
- May 27 – African Caribbean Food Ways Day (full day of activities see details including Andi Oliver, Melissa Thompson and others); Building a Black Food Community; Smashing the Food Hierarchy; The Journey of Jollof; and Caribbean Connections.
- May 28 – British Library Food Season Super Sunday (see details ; The Feminist Kitchen; Cooking for Joy: Celebrating Joyce Molyneux with Angela Hartnett, Ravinder Bhogal, Sally Clarke and Polly Russell; The Social World of Cider; London Finds Itself; The Everything of Ice-Cream with Felicity Cloake and others; Nose to Tail: Fergus Henderson at 60 with Jeremy Lee
- Jun 2 – Queering the Table with John Whaite, Gurdeep Loyal
- Jun 6 – TV Chefs Fact vs Fiction: Bonnie Garmus and Nadiya Hussain with Sara Cox
- Jun 7 – The Bread Basket of Europe with Olia Hercules, Elisabeth Luard and others
And Skye McAlpine has events planned for A Table Full of Love: Recipes to Comfort, Seduce, Celebrate & Everything Else In Between. There are also events scheduled at Waterstones and Topping and Company for many authors.
In Canada, cookbook classes are back in swing at Appetite for Books – Montreal; cooking classes are plentiful at The Cookbook Co. Cooks – Alberta; and classes are scheduled at Deerholme Farm – Vancouver Island.
In Australia, cookbook events are scheduled at both Readings stores and Scrumptious Reads – Brisbane; and while no longer offering classes Accoutrement has set up Cooking Tours.
