Today, I will point out some exciting new titles added just this week. Covers that are already available appear in the collage below.

Hey Jenny. Would it be possible to have your email?
I tackled the Modernist Bagel Recipe and I’m not sure why I don’t manage to make the crust crunchy. The bagel is very tasty but it doesn’t have the right crust texture.

I listened to the Let’s Talk About Food podcast episode with Jane and it was a pure delight! I especially loved the insights on how to search for recipes and her tip on how to search for tomato soup recipes and to search for tomato in soup recipes…because of course some cookbook authors don’t always name their tomato soup recipes “Tomato Soup”!! As a new EYB member, it looks like I still have a lot to learn on how to optimize my experience with this amazing site!

Another part of the podcast episode I loved was when Jane was talking about her love of Bakewell Tart! I would love to know which recipes are her favorites! As an American, I only came to know about Bakewell Tart from GBBO and I have since made one version from a GBBO cookbook and I found it pretty lackluster (possible due to it’s use of store bought jam and incredibly sweet). If Jane, or anyone else has a favorite recipe for Bakewell Tarts I would love to know about it (especially if it includes a recipe for and use of homemade jam)!!

Thank you so much for your kind words! The Bakewell tart I have made more than any other is Nigella’s Bakewell tart with fresh raspberries from How to Eat. That recipe is not available online but we do have 85 other recipes with a link to the full recipe. Do let us know how you get on trying a recipe – don’t forget to add a Note and a photo.

Jane – Thank you so much for your kind reply! Luckily my local library has a copy of How to Eat by Nigella Lawson so I have put it on hold and plan to pick it up next week!! I can’t wait! I will also check out the online recipes you linked to in your reply. Thanks again, and I will definitely plan to share my thoughts and photo of my tart!
