The last two weeks: 12,000 books indexed; Knead Peace; events; recipes and more

This weekend Eat Your Books celebrated another milestone. Due to the incredible work of our professional and member indexers, we have exceeded 12,000 indexed books! As of this date that number is 12,024! Thank you to all our indexers for their hard work and dedication.

Our Calendar has been updated with events for André Darlington (Bar Menu), Borough Market Cookbook Club, Nadia Caterina Munno (The Pasta Queen), Now Serving which includes a three day event for Noma 2.0 with all three authors attending – René Redzepi, Mette Søberg & Junichi Takahashi, and in Australia Matthew Evans at Scrumptious Reads, Brisbane and several book launches at Books for Cooks, Melbourne, as well as a few additional dates sprinkled throughout the bookstores. The White House Historical Association‘s annual holiday book festival is coming up on December 2nd.

Knead Peace: Bake for Ukraine: Recipes from the world’s best bakers in support of Ukraine edited by Andrew Green just arrived from Waterstones in the mail yesterday and I had to take a minute to tell you more about this beautiful book. Knead Peace features a collection of recipes from bakers around the world (including Anna Makievska of The Bakehouse in Kyiv, Helen Goh, Yotam Ottolenghi, Richard Bertinet and many more) with proceeds to benefit Ukraine relief efforts. The title will be released in the US in May of 2023.

While this book’s charitable endeavors are impressive, the content is even more so. Gorgeous imagery accompanies recipes from major bakers and shares recipes such as Gluten-free lemon and almond cake; Cassava, coconut and passion fruit cake; Jewish apple cake; and Cheddar, anchovy and rosemary scones. Buy the book for the good feels with the bonus of having a collection of top-notch recipes from the world’s best bakers/chefs.
