The last two weeks: Recipes for the grill and dessert with a global flair, a new podcast, newly indexed books, cookbook giveaways, EYBD Previews and more
July 9, 2021 by JennyOur last weekly roundup featured chilly desserts and beverages. To continue on that track, earlier this week I shared promotions for Honey & Co: Chasing Smoke: Cooking Over Fire Around the Levant and New-School Sweets: Old-School Pastries with an Insanely Delicious Twist – both of which shared some gorgeous looking recipes – photo below of New-School Sweets – to try now. While the dessert book does require turning on the oven, suffering a warm kitchen for a short while would be well worth the sweat.
Our EYB Library has nearly 16,000 online recipes for the grill with 1,150 books devoted to grilling and BBQ. You can throw dinner on the grill while sipping a beverage while a delicious cake is baking in the kitchen. Check out the recipes available in our Summer Drinks – Skewered promotion – as well as the many refreshing options mentioned in the last roundup. ICYMI, Darcie’s post on grilling greens shares some great ideas.
Podcasts are fun ways to pass the time while cooking, doing housework or having a listen while working. The Cookbook Pantry is a new offering from Monique Llamas of Hardcover Cook. Monique has recorded several episodes to run over the next few months. Hardcover Cook’s mission is to expand your pantry and help you cook your way through your growing cookbook collection.
There are two episodes uploaded now 1: Welcome to Hardcover Cook and 2: Summer Omnivore Box – Ripe Figs + Burlap & Barrel. Last week, I recorded an episode and I’ll be sure to let you know when that is available. Give a listen, visit the Hardcover Cook website and help support a small business.
