This week at Eat Your Books

Since our last roundup, Darcie has written about a number of interesting topics including a piece on decoding cryptic ancient recipes, the closing of Cornersmith Marrickville, putting the magic back in cooking, food writer Russ Parsons gives away even more cookbooks, Joanna Gaines’ second cookbook available for preorder, and look behind the scenes with a GBBO home economist. Darcie’s weekly food news antipasto is shared every Sunday (#foodnews brings up these information-packed posts).

Last Saturday, I posted my final recap of The Great British Bake Off. Just a reminder, season two of The Great British Bake Off – Holidays airs today on Netflix in the US. While we’re talking about Great Britain, you can preorder Sami Tamimi’s Falastin (March/Aril 2020) now. For more information, see my July article.

By next week, I will be sharing our annual gift guides for bakers (with an exciting baking giveaway) and our guides for cookbook lovers and more. During your holiday shopping and everyday online shopping, we appreciate your using our affiliate links located on our home page (lower right corner). Somewhat surprised that you have not added Rick Stein’s latest book, launched in the UK, last week, to coincide with a new BBC series screened tomorrow, 10th November, as with the book, it is titled “Rick Stein’s Secret France”.
Now working my way through this lovely book and so grateful to my beautiful wife for giving me a signed copy for our wedding anniversary.
