The last two weeks: New Feature: Adding a book; identifying eBooks on EYB; cookbook previews and giveaways
June 3, 2022 by JennyIt has been a busy week at EYB! Jane announced our latest new feature: Adding a book to the EYB Library (our post shares details and instructions.) So far things have been going great, but a few notes/reminders:
Please follow our format for Title and Subtitle using caps e.g Noodle Worship: Easy Recipes for All the Dishes You Crave from Asian, Italian and American Cuisines.
Entering as much information as possible i.e. page numbers, ISBN, author, book type and so forth helps us to verify the books more quickly.
Speaking of book types, a few members have commented about wishing to identify cookbooks on their bookshelves as “eBook/Kindle” versions. If you are adding a eBook/Kindle yourself, select Book Type and select eBook. ISBN numbers for eBooks/Kindles can be found in the title page of the eBook or on sites like Kobo.com. Many eBook/Kindle books have already been added to the Library as I try to enter those eBook/Kindle editions when importing the print titles.
We identify books as Paperback, Hardback, Ebook, Spiralbound and so on but right now we cannot designate which recipes on your Bookshelf are from a print book or eBook You can use our Filters and Bookmarks to search those eBook recipes. As an FYI, the Filter below will bring up all your eBooks.
If you wish to search particular eBook recipes you have to add a Bookmark to identify that book as an eBook/Kindle. Then when you search for recipes – using the Filter “My Bookmarks” (I set one of my books as a Kindle Book in the screenshot below) all those recipes will show up.
