Best Selling Books of 2024
January 30, 2025 by JaneLast month our friends at cookbook stores around the world gave us their picks for their favorite books of 2024 which we then included in our Best of the Best of 2024. Now we asked them for their top sellers of 2024 (published in any year).
It would be interesting to compare these charts to non-specialist store/online retailer book sales but it is very hard to get hold of book sales for an entire country.
Amazon UK produced their top sellers of the year (across all genres) and the highest cookbook was Pinch of Nom Air Fryer at #4. Bored of Lunch, which snagged the #1 and #4 slots last year, this year peaks at #12 for The Healthy Air Fryer Book and #13 for Healthy Slow Cooker Even Easier plus three more titles in the top 100. Emily English’s So Good is at #10 with 19 of the top 100 being cookbooks, which is impressive. Air fryers were obviously big purchases in the UK with five additional air fryer cookbooks in the top 100. Other books of note were Simply Jamie at #24, Mary’s Foolproof Dinners at #65, Ottolenghi Comfort at #68 (I thought that one would be higher), and How to Eat 30 Plants a Week by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at #90.
Amazon USA top sellers of 2024 list doesn’t have a cookbook appearing until #64 – The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs by America’s Test Kitchen, which was at #74 last year. From Crook to Cook by Snoop Dogg (a 6 year old title) is at #75 and Ina Garten’s memoir Be Ready When the Luck Happens is at #77. And that is it! Rather different to the UK’s top sellers.
Please do remember when buying cookbooks to support your local cookbook store, if you are lucky enough to have one. Most of the stores listed below are also doing mail order and gift vouchers so you can order from them even if you are not local (click the store name to get the contact info).
