Almond croissant cookies that went viral, ingredient vendors, Q&A Livestream, and more

This week an article from The Kitchn popped up on my radar entitled: I Tried the Viral “Almond Croissant Cookies” and They’ll Transport You Straight to Paris (I Can’t Stop Baking Them!). I am all for being transported to Paris so I bookmarked the recipe to try (and featured the cookie in our online recipe section below).

The Almond croissant cookie recipe is from Ryan Nordheimer, a New York City baker and blogger, who fills each cookie with a sweet almond center and look relatively easy to make. Have any of you tried this heavenly looking cookie?

Last month, Jane shared Help with buying ingredients. Since then we have added another vendor to our Ingredients database – The Spice House and they are offering our Members an introductory discount of 10% using the code EATYOURBOOKS on purchases over $49 (not including gift cards). This code is valid for one year or until March 15th, 2025. Product links have also been added for Food52, Burlap & Barrel, King Arthur Baking, Diaspora Co., and VanillaPura. We have affiliate deals with these vendors which means if you use our links to make purchases, we receive a small commission which goes towards adding more improvements to our site. Please do add a comment on the blog post if there are any online suppliers you would like us to link to.

In case you missed it, Jane, co-founder of EYB and Matt, co-founder of ckbk will be hosting a livestream Q&A on March 20th. I will be moderating and we would love for you to register for this event here. Learn more in Jane’s post: EYB and ckbk livestream Q&A. If you have questions you can email them in advance to jenny@eatyourbooks.com with Q&A in the subject line.

Excited to take advantage of the Spice House offer to the benefit of EYB; I was just putting together an order to refresh some of my ‘red’ spices.

      Thank you ellabee!

Another possibility for Canadian source of spices is The Spice Trader in Toronto. They ship Canada wide and also do balsamic vinegars and oils etc. I’ve used their spices and definitely recommend them.

I’m so glad to see The Spice House added as a vendor. I live a 10-minute walk from the Chicago store, and it’s one of my favorite places to go.
