Suzie Lee is a Chinese cook, the 2020 winner of BBC’s Best Home Cook and the presenter of Suzie Lee Home Cook Hero on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Brought up by her Hong Kong parents in Northern Ireland, Suzie was taught to cook by her mum Celia, who sadly passed away when she was just 16. Even before winning Best Home Cook, Suzie was always being asked for her recipes and top tips in the kitchen.
Suzie is the author of Simply Chinese: Recipes from a Chinese Home Kitchen which was released in 2022 and now brings us Simply Chinese Feasts: Tasty Recipes for Friends and Family. For this new title, Suzie explores the myriad Chinese celebrations, festivals and traditions, all of which center around food and family. The bonus is that all the recipes have been designed for the home kitchen.
The book is structured via food group, in each section, the traditions, symbolism and lucky sayings associated with fish, meat, bread or cakes, are shared before delving into delicious recipes to be celebrated with family and friends. She also throws in her famous twists, allowing the reader to adjust recipes to their needs.
