Massive air fryer recall issued

Cosori, a manufacturer of a popular brand of air fryers, recently announced a recall of over 2 million devices due to the risk of fire. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission informed people who own these appliances “should immediately stop” using them and contact the manufacturer to obtain a replacement at no charge. Cosori has created a website dedicated to the recall so consumers can trade in their faulty air fryer for a new one.

The recall affects appliances sold in the US, Canada, and Mexico. In a press release, Cosori said that after a “thorough investigation, we determined that in extremely rare circumstances, the closed-end crimp connectors within the recalled air fryers, which are responsible for establishing electrical connections between certain wires, can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.”

The model numbers of the affected appliances, which were sold from 2018 to 2023 at various online and big box retailers like Amazon, Home Depot, Best Buy, and Target, are CP158-AF, CP158-AF-R19, CP158-AF-RXW, CP158-AF-RXR, CAF-P581-BUSR, CAF-P581-AUSR, CAF-P581-RUSR, CP137-AF, CP137-AF-RXB, CP137-AF-RXR, CP137-AF-RXW, CS158-AF, CS158-AF-RXB, CS158-AF-R19, CAF-P581S-BUSR, CAF-P581S-RUSR, CAF-P581S-AUSR, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CO158-AF-RXB, CP258-AF.
