Pastry Promotion – Cédric Grolet Cookbooks and Bake On Pastry Set Giveaway
February 2, 2023 by JennyEnter our worldwide giveaway to win a set of Cédric Grolet’s stunning pastry cookbooks: Fruit: The Art of Pastry; Opera Patisserie; and Flowers along with a Bake On Pastry Kit in a Box.
My baking bucket list is so very long that I liken it to a CVS receipt (for those not in the USA, CVS is a pharmacy whose promotion-laden receipts are feet long). On this list, making a spectacular entremet is a high-ranking dream as well as any of the desserts created by Cédric Grolet. I dream large. “An entremet is a cake composed of multiple components assembled into layers, encased in a mousse, enrobed with a glaze and topped with fine decorations.” (See the link here for photographs and more information on entremets.)
Cédric Grolet, the executive pastry chef at Le Meurice in Paris and The Berkeley in London is known for his pastries that focus on fruits and the reinterpretation of traditional French desserts. He is known for creating desserts that have a likeness to the fruits from which they’re made. Follow his Instagram for inspiration. The incredibly talented Grolet has written three gorgeous books: Flowers, Opera Patisserie, and Fruit: The Art of Pastry.
Recently, our Jane with an assist from Fiona, made one of the gorgeous desserts from Flowers: Cherry tree, pictured above. Jane said it took five hours with both of them working on the project but that the result was spectacular. She said “This was a huge amount of work for one dessert but a lot of fun. Fiona is in NZ and I’m in the US so we don’t get to cook/bake together very often. There were seven components, several of which we had never made before – so we learned a lot too.”
While in Paris last summer, Jane visited the famed pastry shop and wanted to tell our Members about her experience:
“I will admit to having a culinary crush on Cédric Grolet but I think it’s as much for his gorgeous creations as for his cuteness. A visit to his Opéra bakery was at the top of my Paris itinerary. It’s the first time I have stood in line for a dessert (apart from ice cream) but it was so worth it. Five options, each in a glass dome, are displayed on a counter. Your selection is placed in a beautiful mirrored box. They don’t just look gorgeous though – they also taste amazing. Our choices were a cherry tart and a pistachio tart. My own cherry dessert wasn’t up to his sublime standards but it’s the closest I’ll get for a while – whenever I have a spare day to make a stunning dessert.”
There are three recipes available online from Grolet’s titles:
- Lemons from Fruit: The Art of Pastry by Cédric Grolet
- Croissants and Chestnuts in baskets from Opera Patisserie by Cédric Grolet
Each of Cédric’s books is a masterclass in pastry. Before I tackle his desserts, I found a “pastry school in a box” from Bake On! and reached out. Jenn from Bake On sent me the Chocolate coffee entremet box. I have had fun studying this box – but have decided to hold on to this kit to create this stunning dessert to celebrate the birthday of my husband in April.
Each kit comes with all the specialty tools, pre-measured, premium ingredients, and both printed and online versions of the recipe to make 6 dome entremets. All you need to do is supply the milk, cream, butter, and eggs! The Chocolate Coffee Dome Entremet kit includes:

I have no doubt I will be successful using this kit. Since I am not making the entremet until April, I have ordered the Hazelnut salted caramel hearts kit to make for Valentine’s Day. This kit will be a perfect introduction to multi-stepped desserts for me. It’s been a while since I’ve made anything elaborate due to health reasons – so I want to ease myself back in.
The kit should arrive in plenty of time for me to whip these beauties out for Valentine’s Day. I was able to use the code EATYOURBOOKS at checkout to receive 20 percent off. Jenn has applied this discount code for all our Members to try.
The kits are somewhat costly but what we are receiving is Jenn’s expertise, almost everything you need to create these beautiful desserts including equipment with top quality ingredients and step-by-step instructions and access to videos. Once you have the box in hand, you can order “refill” kits to create the desserts again. These refill kits provide only the ingredients as you have the equipment already having purchased in the entire kit earlier. The silicone dome pans are wonderful for a number of uses – hot chocolate bombs and other baking projects.
Try one of the pastry kits, build your confidence and then tackle the gorgeous desserts in Grolet’s books. Jenn at Bake On is offering one of our Members a Chocolate coffee entremet box in our giveaway below.
I don’t wish to put off my dreams and passions and want to work on my bucket list before I kick said bucket. The Bake On kit coupled with one of Grolet’s books would make an ideal Valentine’s Day or Mother’s/Father’s Day gift for the baker in your life.
