Increase in membership fees

The EYB membership fees will be increasing on February 1st to $40 per year or $5 per month. This is our first increase since 2015 and the site has developed enormously since then.

In case you need a reminder of just a few things that are available on the site:

We are working on some exciting new features that we will be launching in the next few months.

    Well worth every penny!

    Still totally worth it

OK with me. I use the site everyday ๐Ÿ˜€

This service has been invaluable to me and so I echo others with “worth every penny!” ….as I type this during my usual morning routine of pouring my coffee and immediately logging onto EYB has commenced for today ๐Ÿ™‚

Echoing others’ support. I love this site and the price is fair considering all the utility and pleasure I experience every day from using it! Thank you to the EYB Team for all you do.

Happy to pay for this wonderful service.

I have no problem with this. Best value subscription of all the ones I have.

  • eliza  on  January 29, 2023

EYB is the only subscription I pay for! Like many of you Iโ€™m on this site daily, and find it so helpful.

Ditto all the comments. I’m thrilled to know I’m not the only one to appreciate and value this site as much as I do. Thank you, EYB!

  • matag  on  January 29, 2023

    All of the above

  • Pamsy  on  January 29, 2023

As others have said, worth every penny. I use EYB every day and I can’t imagine cooking without being able to reference my cookbooks. It’s the only subscription I pay for.

Worth every penny! Thank you for such a valuable service!

  • trudys_person  on  January 29, 2023

Ditto to what everyone else said – worth every penny, and the only online subscription I pay for. Thank you!

  • LifeofPie  on  January 29, 2023

Super worth it to me. I have fallen in love with my 500+ cookbooks again and use this site at least 3x/week to cook from them as opposed to some random internet recipe when I have ingredients I need to use up, plus I just love reading the info in my spare time.
The downside though-I keep buying more cookbooks as I see you all reviewing great recipes! (I might have a problem) ๐Ÿ˜‰

No objections here. I love my cookbooks and I love this site and I too am here almost every day. Youโ€™re one of three subscriptions I pay for. And yes this site has led to additions to my bookshelf but itโ€™s also helped curb my addiction. Before I buy I come here to check if that book is indexed, the recipes, reviews if any etc. So my purchases are more selective and informed.

I’d be totally lost without it. Use it several times a week. I still don’t feel I know how to use the site to my advantage. As well as my books what else can I access? ๐Ÿค”.

Our cookbook recipe index is the primary service we offer but there are additional features:
      – Magazine indexes – 70 different magazines are indexed. You can learn how to add all the issues of a magazine at once here in Help as well as how to “subscribe” so every new issue is added automatically.
      – Blogs, websites and newspaper columns – 82 of these are indexed. You can add to your Bookshelf every recipe on these sites so for example all of Smitten Kitchen or Half Baked Harvest’s recipes or author sites such as Nigella or Ottolenghi.
      – Online recipes – there are 385,000 of these and more are added every day. They are links to the full recipes from cookbooks, magazines or online sites. If you can’t find a recipe you want in your own collection, try the Online Recipes filter of the Library.
      – Bookmarklet – you can add any online recipe you see that is not already indexed to your Bookshelf and the Library – learn more about this feature here in Help.
      – Member indexing – if you wish any of your books were indexed but they are unlikely to be done by EYB soon (as they are not owned by enough EYB members), you can volunteer to index them yourself. About 1/3 of the books indexed are done by members. You can learn more in Help.
      – There are lots of ways you can make your own recipe collection easier to manage such as adding Bookmarks and using the filters. Take a look at the Tutorials, accessed from the green Need Help? button at bottom right (not available on phones). The Help pages will also have lots of suggestions on features.
      – And finally, take a look at this post from Jenny on Ideas on how to make EYB work better for you. Although the post is from April 2020, Jenny keeps it up-to-date as new features are added to the site.
