If you follow Mike Bakes NYC on Instagram, you will understand why I was so excited for this book to be released. Mike’s feed is a dessert lover’s dream filled with every imaginable delight from brownies (of course) to doughnuts and rolls. I am famous for my variations on brownies. When we lived back in New York, my husband’s co-workers would beg for brownies or bars and they still comment on my social media about missing them. So I am always on the lookout for more inspiration in the brownie/bar arena.
Mike’s book shares fifty recipes that will level up your dessert bar game from Brownie ice cream sandwiches to Glazed gingerdoodle cookie bars. I want to make almost every recipe here especially the Brûléed Meyer lemon bars. I’ve been so busy with work and medical appointments my baking time has dwindled but these bars are calling to me and time will be made.
