Free “Baker’s Helper” conversion charts available for download

Rick Rodgers is one of my (and Jenny’s) favorite cookbook authors. One of our treasured titles is Kaffeehaus: Exquisite Desserts from the Classic Cafés of Vienna, Budapest, and Prague. Not only have his recipes been featured in such publications as Bon Appétit, he is a fantastic instructor and is always happy to answer questions posed to him by bakers all over the world.
Although we didn’t need another reason to appreciate Rick, we got one anyway when he offered all of us a set of free reference charts that he calls his “Baker’s Helper.” Sign up for his newsletter to receive your free download. Rick is in the planning stages of offering additional cake classes and the newsletter will hold details of those classes.
Rick created these five charts through his decades of work as a recipe developer and cookbook author. They include weight measurements of common ingredients, conversions from one type of weight or volume measurement to another, temperature conversions, and length conversions. The length conversions are great because while many scales will easily convert from ounces to grams and vice-versa, converting pan sizes is not as easy for those of us who are not blessed with the metric system.
These charts make it easy to switch between metric and imperial recipes. Since my cookbook collection is almost evenly split between US and UK cookbooks, I will get a lot of mileage from these conversions. I had my own charts tacked to the inside of my cabinet doors, but mine were not as comprehensive (or attractive) as these. Thanks Rick!
