The Elliott brothers are the Pizza Pilgrims and authors of Pizza Pilgrims: Recipes from the Backstreets of Italy and their new title Pizza: History, Recipes, Stories, Places, People, Love.
During this pandemic, like many owners of restaurants, the found themselves having to close the doors on their bustling restaurant chain. After some thought, the Elliotts created Pizza in the Post, a £15 kit with ready-made dough and Italian ingredients dispatched in a pizza box. The kits have helped cushion the impact of the closure and kept the “heartbeat” of the company alive.
Their latest book is a fun-filled guide brimming with history, stories, photographs, and recipes. There are pages devoted to the World Pizza Games, guides to pizza in various cities, pizza facts, and vignettes on pizza box art, various “hybrid” pizza producers (Pizza Hut, etc) and so much more.
