Genevieve Ko joins NYT Cooking
October 7, 2020 by DarcieThe New York Times announced today that Genevieve Ko would be joining its food section and NYT Cooking as a senior editor. Ko is making a cross-country move from The Los Angeles Times where she currently serves as cooking editor.
In addition to her work at the LA Times, Ko has coauthored several cookbooks, working with culinary legends such as Mark Bittman and renowned chefs Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Carla Hall, and Pichet Ong, among others. She has also written her own cookbook, 2016’s Better Baking. That book has a 4.5 star rating in the EYB Library. Ko has also worked for several magazines including Gourmet.
In her new position at NYT, Ko will assume a leadership role in both NYT Cooking and the newspaper’s Food report. The Times says it will be expanding its offerings with Ko at the helm, and if that weren’t enough, she will also contribute articles and recipes. Ko’s official start date is October 19.
