A new Julia Child series + news from the NYT
September 12, 2019 by DarcieNormally I would save this type of news for the weekly ‘antipasto’ post, but these two items are too good to wait! The first comes to us from the website Women and Hollywood, which reports that a new Julia Child series may be forthcoming from HBO Max. It will reportedly star Emmy Award-winning actor Joan Cusack.
The show will be a drama about the life of the iconic chef, author, and television personality. While nothing is confirmed, reports indicate that the program is close to shooting a pilot, with Daniel Goldfarb set to write and executive produce. Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment are also involved with the project. Keep your fingers crossed that this all works out.
The second announcement comes from J. Kenji López-Alt, who tweeted earlier today that he will be joining The New York Times as a columnist. He will focus on food science, and will write a column and recipe once a month. He says that he will continue with Serious Eats and his food venture (Wursthall) in the same capacity as before.
