Have tea with Mary Berry on a luxury train
April 9, 2019 by DarcieThe opportunities for travel perfectly suited to cookbook lovers are seemingly endless. Today’s selection comes to us from Belmond British Pullman, which offers train rides through the English countryside in restored vintage railroad cars. On May 3, there’s a special excursion featuring afternoon tea with beloved television host and author Mary Berry.
Who wouldn’t want to take a train ride in a luxuriously appointed Art Deco carriage with Berry, the consummate hostess? In addition to chatting with the former star of GBBO and countless other cookery programs, you’ll be treated to a selecion of cakes and desserts, plus a glass of sparkling wine, as you journey through the countryside from Victoria London station into the Weald of Kent and back again. As a bonus, Berry is offering each participant a gift on departure.
Hobnobbing with Mary Berry comes with a price tag that matches the luxury of the train car. Each ticket is £300 (~$444 USD) for the roughly four-hour tour.
