A Meatloaf in Every Oven: Two Chatty Cooks, One Iconic Dish and Dozens of Recipes – from Mom’s to Mario Batali’s by Frank Bruni and Jennifer Steinhauer delivers fun and sustenance in the form of warm, comforting meatloaf recipes. Who doesn’t like their meatloaf glazed with witty banter?

Marilyn Pollack Naron’s illustrations adorn this fun title that pays tribute to the humble meatloaf. Frank and Jennifer have an event coming up on the 9th of March to talk about their new book – check to see if they are in your area.

    Clean out the Fridge Meatloaf, as I love "use it up" recipes. Also, memoirs with recipes and cookbooks with memories are among my favorite types of reading.

    I love that recipes for meatloaf sandwiches are included with each recipe, too.

    ooh, any of the cool ones with flavors you would never associate with meatloaf! the chicken curry sounds amazing, so does the japanese loaf with miso and mirin. others i love the ideas of: greek loaf with lamb and feta, jerusalem loaf with sumac and couscous, the chicken eggplant loaf, crab and shrimp loaf muffins, zucchini loaf, kasha loaf, and the shiitake salad! and i love both cookbooks and food writing, so together–perfection.

    I love books that combine stories and recipes, I'll never forget reading an M.F.K. Fisher book and realizing she had lived in my hometown for a time.
    And I think Bobby Flay's Korean-style meatloaf with spicy glaze sound good.

    I'm interested in some of the more unsual sounding meatloafs, such as the chicken curry masala loaf and the Japanese loaf with miso and mirin. I enjoy a mix of food writing and recipes, as long as there is not too much of the former

    They all look good, but I think that I would try Charlie Bird's turkey loaf with farro salad first. I make his farro salad often, and it is excellent. Yes, count me in as a card carrying member of the food writing AND recipe club!

    I'd start with a more traditional-sounding recipe like Annie Miler's home-style loaf with cheddar and parsley, and then move on to some of the ones with more varied flavors…and I love books that combine food writing and recipes! Best of both worlds <3

    The chicken curry masala loaf with mango chutney glaze sound fantastic. I think every cookbook tells a story in its own way. I have always enjoyed Frank Bruni's writing, so I am sure I would love this cookbook.
