Cookbook giveaway – Bistronomy

Bistronomy cookbook If you haven’t heard about the bistronomy movement, now’s your chance to discover this phenomenon. Food writer Katrina Meynink takes a look inside the world of the bistronomy restaurant, terroir, wine and the workings of the bistronomy chefs with her latest cookbook, Bistronomy: French Food UnboundBistronomy details the history of the nascent movement that melds gastronomy with bistro, and describes how this beguiling combination makes casual dining a very serious proposition with an unwavering focus on seasonality and creativity. Author Katrina Meynink embraces the movement’s concept of sharing by offering more than 100 recipes generously contributed by thirty Australian and international chefs.  You can learn more about bistronomy–and the cookbook–in our author interview.

We’re delighted to offer six copies of Bistronomy to EYB Members: 3 copies for Members in the UK, and three copies for Members in Australia or New Zealand. The contest is only open to EYB Members residing in those countries. One of the entry options is answering the following question:

Which classic French bistro food is your favorite?

Please note that you must enter the comment after signing into Rafflecopter or your entry won’t be counted. The contest ends December 29, 2014.

The classic bistro dish that places your trust in the kitchen and the bistro to have chosen the right ingredients and prepared everything just right must, by definition, be Steak Tartare.

For me, Moules Mariniere. But a lasting memory at a Bastille market area bistro was a couple of gorgeous slender twenty something mademoiselles, on their lunch break with some colleagues, heartily tucking in. No picking at the leaves here. One enjoyed an oozing warmed camembert atop a generous salade verte, while her friends salade was topped with a huge mound of steak tartare. They shared the frites. Vive!
