Discovering potted shrimp
November 25, 2012 by LindsayAs the weather turns chilly, at least here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s time to start curling up with murder mysteries. And part of the fun – at least in old-fashioned English mysteries – is reading about the food. Has anyone else ever had a fantasy about having tea with Miss Marple?
So we thought it was fun that one of those classic English dishes often mentioned in these books – potted shrimp – seems to have been rediscovered. According to Serious Eats, “The idea of shoving lovely, tender shrimp into a little pot may seem a bit backwards to some, but once you’ve tasted the gently seasoned butter and lovely tender shrimp you’ll understand why this classic British dish is coming back into style.”
This dish does sound like the type of comfort food that would taste so good with an old-time murder mystery. Here’s the info – enjoy!
