Forget farm to table – Netflix offers film to table

Watching cooking shows is both entertaining and frustrating because there is no way to taste the creation of the chefs or contestants. We are forced to use our imaginations or recreate the dish at home if a recipe is provided. Fans of cooking shows in Los Angeles, however, will get a little something extra at the end of the month, as Netflix is opening a pop-up restaurant that features dishes from its most popular food programs.

Called Netflix Bites, the pop-up opens June 30 and will include dishes from celebrities such as Dominique Crenn (from Chef’s Table), Nadiya Hussain (Nadiya Bakes), Ann Kim (Chef’s Table: Pizza), Rodney Scott (Chef’s Table: BBQ), Curtis Stone (Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend), Jacques Torres (Nailed It!), Ming Tsai (Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend), and Andrew Zimmern (Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend). In addition to what the network is calling “bite flights” – small plates showcasing one chef’s specialties – there will be a cocktail menu as well.

Netflix has not provided specific menu items or prices, saying only that there will be “authentic cuisine from around the world” offered at different price points. You’ll find the restaurant at the Short Stories Hotel in Los Angeles. The article stated it would only be open for a “short time” but offered no specific end date, so if you are interested you need to act fast and grab a reservation as soon as you can.
