Phoenix Cooks – Cookbook Giveaway
November 11, 2020 by JennyEnter our US/CA giveaway to win one of two copies of Phoenix Cooks: Recipes from the City’s Finest Chefs by Christina Barrueta.
Phoenix Cooks is the latest in the #cooksandeats series from Figure 1. As I have stated numerous times, I just love these books (sorry for the repetition of that statement to our long-time members). This hashtag link will pull up all the promotions we have done for the #cooksandeats series. This special series of books take recipes from each city’s finest chefs and restaurants and bring them all together in one beautiful title.
I lived in Phoenix for several years but didn’t have an occasion to frequent many restaurants. That can be said about almost every place I’ve lived – St. Louis, Phoenix, New York, and now Denver. While I lived in a particular city, I was always too busy or pinching too many pennies to try many eateries. New York, luckily was the exception. Cookbooks like Phoenix Cooks provide a taste of the city’s restaurant scene through its narrative and recipes.
Our takes you inside this beautiful book and features three recipes to try now: Carne asada tacos with nopales pico de gallo, salsa molcajete, and guacamole; Guilty pleasure wings with rooster sauce and sweet chili soy sauce; and Mesquite pappardelle, Marsala-braised beef heart, porcini, and Calabrian chile toasted breadcrumbs.
There is a little bit of everything here: Tempura-style beer-battered fish with wasabi tartar, Fried chicken with Alabama white barbecue sauce, Crab hush puppies with sweet corn remoulade, Strozzapreti alla salsiccia, and Palak paneer are a sampling of the diverse food Phoenix has to offer.
Be sure to head over to our promotion for Miami Cooks.
