Fairytale Baking

Today, I posted on my social media about a cookbook that I was drawn to again: Fairytale Baking: 75 Enchanting Recipes Inspired by Snow White, Hansel & Gretel, and Other Classic Stories by Christin Geweke. This book is so dreamy that a post for our members is warranted. When I first received this book last year, I was impressed by its recipe contents and beautiful imagery.

Each of the sections is inspired by fairytales: Snow-white and Rose-red (classic beauties); Hansel and Gretel (sweet and scrumptious); Mother Holle (icing sugar and chocolate), The Star-Money (divine baking), and The Princess and the Pea (airy delights). A story opens up the sections followed by a dozen or so recipes.

Our shares the preface of this title and two recipes. The Banana and pecan nut cake is lovely – photos from the preview above and below.

Other recipes I have tagged to make include Spekulatius spice tartlets, Orange and pistachio Kugelhopf, Quick nut cake, Black and white cake, Mini cinnamon rolls, Tiramisu cake, and Cinnamon cookies.

The book is around 12.00 right now and worth every penny. It makes a great gift for young and more experienced bakers alike.
