Bread Ahead: The Expert Home Baker: A Masterclass in Classic Baking by Matthew Jones: This long-awaited follow up to Jones’ Baking School features over 90 fool-proof, classic baking recipes, with both sweet and savory staples and plenty of seasonal favorites. Sprinkled throughout this beautiful book are cross-sections depicting the anatomy of a particular baked good (i.e., anatomy of a ciabatta) and many progression photos guiding us to stretching/folding/braiding doughs.
The classics are here such as Treacle tart, Babka rolls and Croissants as well as recipes for what are sure to be new classics: Pumpkin special doughnuts, Lentil rolls and Herby mushroom buckwheat tart. Our

The Bread Ahead locations in the UK offer a variety of classes from in person to virtual. On Mar 23rd, the Borough Market Cookbook Club has a Bread Ahead related class. Bread Ahead Bakery & School will be providing both the subject matter and the venue for this event. Members will bake and bring along something from the book. Matt will then demonstrate a recipe from the book and answer your baking questions. Doughnuts and wine will be available! If you do not have a copy of the book, bake one of the preview recipes above!
