Top fifty-six cookbooks published in 2024 added to EYB Member Bookshelves

A few years ago I created a list of top cookbooks that Members added to their Bookshelves in that particular year. This year’s list includes 56 titles as I included a few additional books that were on 100 Bookshelves. Please note this list does not include those books that are labeled as ckbk as those numbers are higher due to the Membership on that site – roughly around 150 of our Members also belong to ckbk. Accordingly, the top books here are those that were selected and purchased by Members. Please note the footnotes below the table. Update: Members asked if I could do something similar by country/region. You may find that data here.

    Thank you- fun list!

How interesting!…. I wonder how this list relates to a best selling cookbook list within the wider community.

Jane is working on the Best of the Best by the Experts (Booksellers) and the Best Selling books will be posted after January 1. I wanted to get this done before the holidays – as I have a load of medical appointments coming up.

Very interesting- I knew Ottolenghi’s books were very popular but so much more than even #2!

Kinhawaii….. I’m increasingly seeing Ottolenghi as a bit of a cult and people as just buying it BECAUSE it’s Ottolenghi. Also here in the UK it’s pretty much been on permanent 50% discount (Amazon). Unless my eyes are deceiving me I can’t see any Jamie Oliver which is a slight surprise hence my original comment about general lists ie are we as cookbook collectors more discerning?

Interesting list…huge thanks for compiling it for us! I currently have 5 of these, I’m hoping the new Half Baked Harvest is under the tree and am planning on gifting King Arthur’s Bread to myself for my January birthday 🙂

I also wonder what the top of the list would look like if Dorie Greenspan or Barefoot Contessa (besides her memoir) had published this year??

And Indio32 – Jamie Oliver’s Simply Jamie is 3rd from the bottom.

Just opened my birthday present and added one more copy of Ottolenghi’s ‘Comfort’ to the list!

Some of these books are nearly impossible to get outside the US, so I would be interested in a list by region (Europe vs. US vs. Australia vs, UK). In mainland Europe we also buy books in languages other than English, which, unfortunately, are not often on EYBs (I know some of mine are!)

  • averythingcooks  on  December 13, 2024

Maybe if we are going to look at books by region we could include Canada in the list 🙂

  • Jenny  on  December 14, 2024

I will try to do a list by country.
