Do you feel like “cookbook season” gets longer and longer every year? I started tracking cookbooks in 2019 and at the time, “Cookbooktober” really was centered around October. The majority of releases started the second (or even third) week in September and were wrapping up by the last week of October.

Last year, it pretty clearly started the last weekend of August and lasted through the second week of November. And this year, I can make a relatively compelling argument that it started the last week of July and will last until the last week of November.

That’s to say nothing of the sheer quantity of books being released, or the secondary season that’s been somewhat established in March and April.

    • Jenny  on  August 27, 2024

I believe Cookbooktober has always began around the end of August – if you look at previous preview posts – you will see the amount of books have been steady coming out in August through November. (Some of these preview posts are not all the yearly ones.)

Seen anything interesting? Let us know & we'll share it!
