GBBO announces new co-host Alison Hammond

In an Instagram post, the Great British Bake Off just confirmed who would be replacing Matt Lucas as co-host of the program along with Noel Fielding. Alison Hammond, the presenter of This Morning, will enter the tent for the upcoming season of the show.

Hammond will be the first person of color to host or judge on the show since its inception. In her own Instagram post earlier this morning, Hammond said “I’m just absolutely thrilled. I’m going to be meeting the bakers very soon. I’m joining The Great British Bake Off. I’m so very excited.”

In addition to her work on This Morning, Hammond has participated in several reality shows and was herself a contestant on an episode of Celebrity Bake Off.
