IACP Cookbook Awards 2022 winners
November 18, 2022 by DarcieOn Friday November 18, 2022, the International Association of Culinary Professionals announced the winners of the prestigious IACP awards from the Middleby Showroom in Dallas and New York. The announcement was made via video and can be viewed online on Vimeo.
It was a good ‘day’ for Member favorite baking books: Cheryl Day’s Treasury of Southern Baking topped the American cookbooks category and Zoë François won the Baking Sweet & Savory, Confections and Desserts category for her book Zoë Bakes Cakes: Everything You Need to Know to Make Your Favorite Layers, Bundts, Loaves, and More.
In the Chefs & Restaurant category the winner was And For Mains…: Recipes, Stories and Pints with an Irish Butcher and Chef by Gaz Smith and Rick Higgins, published by Nine Bean Rows in Ireland. The Food of Oaxaca: Recipes and Stories from Mexico’s Culinary Capital by Alejandro Ruiz took home top honors in the Culinary Travel category. Christopher Kimball won the General category for his title Milk Street Vegetables: 250 Bold, Simple Recipes for Every Season.
Lifetime Achievement Awards went to Liz Newmark and Sue Zelickson. Zelickson is a James Beard Award-winning food media personality, philanthropist, and longtime contributor to Minnesota Monthly magazine, and Newmark is an American chef and entrepreneur, member of the New York State Food Policy Council, and the founder of The Sylvia Center, a nonprofit organization that inspires healthy eating.
The Cookbook of the Year went to Rodney Scott’s World of BBQ: Recipes and Perspectives from the Legendary Pitmaster by Rodney Scott and Lolis Eric Elie.
