Observer Food Monthly 2022 Award winners
October 14, 2022 by DarcieAt a gala event on October 13, Observer Food Monthly magazine announced the winners of its 2022 awards. The bulk of the honors were given to restaurants and bars, but cookbooks and food writers were also fêted at the event. Awards of interest to our Members include:
- The Observer Food Monthly icon award – Delia Smith
- Best new cookbook – Nistisima: The Secret to Delicious Vegan Cooking from the Mediterranean and Beyond by Georgina Hayden
- Food hero – Jack Monroe
- Editors award – #CookforUkraine
Delia Smith was not able to pick up her award in person, but provided a statement to the magazine: “I am deeply touched and filled with gratitude at receiving this very prestigious icon award from Observer Food Monthly. I have now spent 50 years writing recipes, columns and presenting TV – not alone but with the help of an amazing support team who have been with me all through. My gratitude also goes to all the people who still use my books and show so much appreciation after all this time.”
