Home Cookery Year – Cookbook Giveaway
October 29, 2020 by JennyEnter our US/UK/NZ/AU giveaway to win one of three copies of Home Cookery Year: Four Seasons, Over 200 Recipes for All Possible Occasions by Claire Thomson.
Claire Thomson writes books that I love to cook from especially The Art of the Pantry (or Larder) reviewed here and New Kitchen Basics. Now I have a third title to enjoy, Home Cookery Year, that delivers 200 approachable, seasonal recipes to bring new twists to my regular rotation.
For an easy weeknight dinner try the Fried potato Masala toastie or Spaghetti with raw tomato sauce. When there is more time Spring vegetables & chicken paella or Steak with shallot rings, watercress & mustard crème fraîche will impress everyone gathered around your table.
Claire has dessert covered too! Quick dessert ideas such as Apricots baked with brioche, bay leaves, honey, & hazelnuts, or Pan fried pineapple with rum and brown sugar and coconut yogurt will hit the spot after any meal – one that you threw together quickly or slaved over all day. More elaborate desserts include offerings like Buñuelos with spiced pineapple & chilli, bay & cinnamon syrup or a gorgeous Flourless dark chocolate cake made with Turkish delight, halva & dates.
Our takes you inside this beautiful book and features the following
- Red lentil & roasted carrot soup with za’atar
- Caramelized coconut pork fillet with roasted cabbage & peanuts
- Trinidadian-style fried bread, fried fish & hot green sauce
Claire’s books are special and provide so much inspiration when time is short or you have a lovely day to create a feast for friends.
