Celebrate International Coffee Day
September 29, 2020 by DarcieToday is International Coffee Day or as I like to call it, Tuesday, as I celebrate coffee every single day. I can’t start the morning without my favorite beverage, hot in cool weather and iced for the steamy days. Coffee is not only a delicious beverage, but it can add a pop of flavor to foods as well.
Coffee pairs well with chocolate, and you’ll find plenty of baking recipes that call for coffee, either as a liquid or in powdered form. Instant espresso powder is used a great deal more in baking than in making an espresso to drink. Savory food can benefit from the deep, nutty, and toasty flavor of coffee as well. From Mexican mole to barbecue sauces and a range of roasted meats and vegetables, coffee can play either a starring or support role. On this day I would be remiss not to mention the Dalgona coffee trend from earlier this year. Millions of people made this delicious treat during quarantine and posted about it on every social media platform.
