Eater’s list of the best cookbooks of the season

The lists of new cookbooks to add to your wish list keeps growing. This version, featuring fifteen volumes, comes from Eater. You will see many of the same books that Jenny included on her recent list of the best spring cookbooks such as Dinner in French: My Recipes by Way of France by Melissa Clark and Falastin: A Cookbook by Sami Tamimi and Tara Wigley, but there are a few others that weren’t covered in that review.

One of those is Lummi: Island Cooking by Blaine Wetzel. Wetzel is the James Beard Award-winning chef of The Willows Inn, and champion of hyper-local cuisine. Lummi offers an inside look at his unique approach to fine dining. Another on Eater’s list is Bitter Honey: Recipes from the Island of Sardinia by Letitia Clark, a chef who moved to Sardinia with her (now ex-) boyfriend hoping to escape Brexit. The book is an honest look at the island’s cuisine, featuring approachable recipes.

One book that caught my eye with its evocative, abstract cover is Ana Ros: Sun and Rain by Ana Roš. While not exactly a household name, the Slovenian chef of Hiša Franko has attracted some buzz including the World’s 50 Best and an episode of Chef’s Table. A couple more books from the Eater list are The Boba Book: Bubble Tea and Beyond by Andrew Chau and Bin Chen, and My Korea: Traditional Flavors, Modern Recipes by Hooni Kim.
