We are pleased to share a promotion for our next EYBD Book, New Pizza: A Whole New Era for the World’s Favourite Food by Stefano Manfredi.
Stefano Manfredi is known fondly in Australia as the ‘godfather’ of modern Italian cuisine. He has made his mark as chef, restaurateur, an inspired coffee blender, successful cookbook and food writer, an Italian Wine and Food educator and an ambassador of seasonality and sustainability. His book, Stefano Manfredi’s Italian Food, is a massive tome devoted to his cuisine with over 500 recipes, and has earned a place on my bookshelf.
Pizza comes in many styles and the quality of the pizza is
defined by the quality of the flour, the dough and the ingredients
for the topping. In Manfredi’s latest book he takes pizza back to
its roots using stoneground, unbleached, wholewheat flour and
tried-and-tested methods for kneading and proving pizza dough,
showing step by step how to create the healthiest, tastiest base
for your pizza. The toppings are great but we know it’s all about
the crust. I’m a crispy thin crust lover.
Next comes an incredible range of toppings – the classics like
Margherita or Seafood pizza and then a delicious range of new
styles including Lamb belly, ricotta and Mediterranean herbs, the
Peking duck roll pizza, Fried pizza with pork belly, ricotta and
provola and a delightfully named Pillow of dreams, a chocolate
indulgence dessert pizza (I can’t let my son see that
recipe).
There are features with five of Naples’ finest pizza chefs and
sprinkled throughout are stunning shots of the beautiful city of
Naples, the local growers and their produce which really make this
a must have title. Manfredi’s New Pizza takes
pizza back to what it used to be – a healthy and delicious fast
food for everyone to enjoy.
