Mary Berry’s back with a new show
February 28, 2018 by Darcie
Mary Berry, the beloved former host of The Great British Bake Off, is returning to television this year with a new BBC One show called Classic Mary Berry. The program will follow Berry as she travels throughout the British countryside. After she visits home and farms to learn about different foods from various guests, she will return to her own recently remodeled and enlarged kitchen to demonstrate the recipes.
In a trailer for the new show, Berry says “I’m going to show you some tips and techniques with almost no fuss.” Whether her version of “no fuss” is the same as everyone else’s is another story. Regardless, fans will undoubtedly flock to see the show.
The first episode aired this
Monday, and should be available on the BBC’s iPlayer to stream
now. In the inaugural program, Berry learned “the joys of
caveman cooking” from Swedish fire chef Niklas Eskedt. She also
demonstrated less rustic recipes, such as Eggs Benedict
Florentine, lamb shanks, and “deliciously rich chocolate truffle
pots.”
