Cookbook Giveaway – The Saffron Tales

The Saffron Tales: Recipes from the Persian Kitchen by Yasmin Khan is a brillant book packed with the rich culture of Persian cooking. Photographs reflect the opulent colors of the ingredients and flavors that make these dishes so vibrant and appealing.

    Herby baked falafels with a fennel and watercress salad. I love chickpea anything, and though I have a decent falafel recipe, the additional herbs and the salad in this one are an appealing new twist.

    hands-down, the carrot, cardamom & rosewater jam. My husband & I stayed at this amazing B&B in Bath ME run by a woman from Iran. She served a carrot jam at breakfast that I've never forgotten. It would be wonderful to recreate it.

    Slow cooked lamb shoulder with dried lime and split peas – this sounds like a wonderful hearty dish for sharing with friends, I am intrigued to try cooking with dried lime and my house is surrounded by sheep farms so I feel inspired to cook lamb!

    this is a list because i can't choose. literally all the egg dishes on the first page and especially the kukus, lavaash, burnt aubergine and walnut dip to go with, persimmon, goat cheese, and rocket salad, spicy lentil and tamarind soup, all of those eggplant dishes oh man, grilled mackerel with spicy pomegranate salsa, prawn, coriander, and tamarind stew, yogurt cake with poached figs, rhubarb and cardamom cheesecake, date and walnut squares…sorry, couldn't help myself! PERSIAN FOOD!
