Cookbook podcast spotlight

Susie ChangAlmost one year ago, we reported the exciting news that Susie Chang, who has written for EYB, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, and many other publications, started a cookbook podcast. After 15 episodes, Susie put the podcast on hold at the end of 2016. We’re happy to announce that her podcast called Level Teaspoon is back with a new season of episodes featuring the best cookbooks of 2017.

The new season features a slightly tweaked show format. In addition, the Level Teaspoon now has a Patreon page with special features for subscribers, including recipe excerpts, cookbook giveaways, and more, which you can learn about in the short season intro. We’re excited that we can again listen to Susie’s mellifluous voice and learn from her excellent insight.

Another excellent podcast comes to us from Suzy Chase Osborne, and is called Cookery by the Book. (Is there something about Suzy/Susie and cookbooks?) Suzy recently aired an episode with Jacques Pepin about his latest work, A Grandfather’s Lessons: In the Kitchen with Shorey. Adventures in Starry KitchenThere are 67 different podcasts from which to choose, each one highlighting a single cookbook, including Adventures in Starry Kitchen  and 1,000 Foods to Eat Before You Die

If you finish all episodes of the Level Teaspoon and Cookery by the Book, there are several other cookbook-related podcasts that you can sample. A few of these aren’t strictly about cookbooks but may feature episodes dedicated to a book or author, or feature notable chefs and food writers. Happy listening!
