I would say I am an inermediate baker

  • rchesser  on  December 3, 2016

    Skilled, I like to think.

  • soopsoop  on  December 3, 2016

I spent six months baking bread once a week. The only one I ever mastered was Jim Lahey's no-knead bread. So experienced novice?

  • mcrimmins  on  December 3, 2016

I'm a novice but have to decided to bake bread on every snow day we have in NJ this winter. I read the Farmer's Almanac, there is going to be a big storm in February.

  • jr0717  on  December 3, 2016

I'm a novice, and good at bargaining with other confections and creations in exchange for homemade bread from other bakers that excel in it!

  • tennyogirl  on  December 3, 2016

    novice

  • hillsboroks  on  December 3, 2016

I'm probably somewhere between skilled and novice.

  • allthatsleftarethecrumbs  on  December 3, 2016

I'd say novice. I just wish I had more time to bake.

  • sgump  on  December 3, 2016

When I was much younger, I used to bake a lot of yeasted products (breads, rolls, and so on) as 4-H projects. But that was long ago. I would love to make the time to reengage with the craft! (So chalk me down as a "novice" these days.)

  • Marcia1206  on  December 3, 2016

This is said to be a fabulous book!

  • Marcia1206  on  December 3, 2016

I'm a novice in bread making However I would love to learn!

  • alirov  on  December 4, 2016

Probably closer to a novice these days. It's been awhile since I've tried baking fresh bread.

  • lhudson  on  December 4, 2016

    I am definitely a novice.

  • vickster  on  December 4, 2016

I am maybe a bit below skilled – not a novice but more intermediate. Baking bread is the most satisfying form of cooking for me. I would make bread every day if not for the fact that it would cause us to eat too much. I really want this book!

  • bktravels  on  December 4, 2016

Many years ago when I had 3 young children, a full-time executive position, and a husband who traveled frequently, I baked bread fairly often. Now that I'm retired, I don't seem to have time! So, I'm more than an novice, but I don't know that I'm still skilled. My goal is to pull out some of Beth Hensperger's wonderful and inspiring bread books this winter and start making bread again.

  • Larkspur  on  December 4, 2016

Pretty skilled. I make sourdough breads regularly and pizza dough.

  • anightowl  on  December 4, 2016

Not a novice, but I don't think I would call myself skilled either, I don't bake by hand as often as I would like to.

  • ToPieFor  on  December 4, 2016

I know I can do this but…I may knead (ha ha) some hand holding.
Can't say I've ever baked bread, except for Irish soda bread, and I really want to try it! This book is just the push I need. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Elena Rose  on  December 4, 2016

I'm no longer a novice at baking, but I could certainly use some hand holding occasionally. This book looks amazing! And I have to add that my youngest child's name is Uri, so I'm excited to get this book for him to see.

  • dinnermints  on  December 5, 2016

Skilled. Kind of addicted to baking bread. Somehow it rises to the top of the priority list when I should be, say, weeding or doing other home-improvementy type things. But nothing turns out to be half so gratifying.

  • annieski  on  December 5, 2016

    Skilled. Maybe mad skills!

  • two2babykitties  on  December 5, 2016

Semi-skilled, but I can always use advice. This book seems wonderful.

  • pkeibel  on  December 5, 2016

    skilled can always learn more

  • tarae1204  on  December 5, 2016

    Absolute novice.

  • meggan  on  December 5, 2016

Hold my hand – yeast hates me!

  • TheToughCookie  on  December 5, 2016

Skilled in breads, but want to ramp up the skills to OFF THE CHARTS!

  • sarahawker  on  December 5, 2016

Definitely a novice! I don't think a bread machine counts.

  • Katiefayhutson  on  December 5, 2016

    Skilled

  • annmartina  on  December 6, 2016

Skilled to advanced, if catching wild yeast and making successful bread qualifies as advanced.

  • lgroom  on  December 7, 2016

No longer a novice, but hardly skilled.

  • ptherrien  on  December 7, 2016

Hold my hand, I'm scared! Been trying for decades to make bread. Best I can do is use my expensive bread machine. Yeast hates me. Help!

  • verorenee  on  December 7, 2016

Definitely novice, but I pretend I'm skilled, it helps take the fear of making something new away.

  • cookingforthefam  on  December 7, 2016

I think somewhere between skilled and advanced. I bake the majority of our daily bread, but I can't knead (bad wrists), so I have to use mechanical help (stand mixer or bread machine). I like trying new recipes.

  • kimtrev  on  December 8, 2016

    I like to think I'm skilled…

  • stockholm28  on  December 10, 2016

    Definitely a novice.

I'd rank myself somewhere between novice and skilled.

  • centraljersey  on  December 16, 2016

He's pretty skilled but with a limited repertoire. I'm a novice because of him.

  • fiarose  on  December 16, 2016

hold my hand i'm scared, but not for long y'all!!

  • johannab  on  December 16, 2016

Skilled but wanting to be a master!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • cocecitycook  on  December 17, 2016

Skilled, but there's always more to learn

  • Rinshin  on  December 17, 2016

Sometimes perfect other times scrunchy face.

  • Lafauvette  on  December 17, 2016

Novice. I've made bread a few times with decent results.

  • rivergait  on  December 17, 2016

Skilled, but unpracticed these last few years. I taught myself in the 70's when we wore long skirts, had green plants everywhere inside, and kneaded 100% by hand. I need photos and inspiration to begin again.

  • t.t  on  December 17, 2016

I'm beyond novice, but I don't think I'd be in the skilled category yet…

  • Sfgordon  on  December 18, 2016

somewhere between skilled and advanced – i think it's always anxiety-producing because there are so many factors involved in making good bread, but I at least have some amount of confidence with it.

  • dorits  on  December 18, 2016

I haven't baked a lot of bread but am a skilled baker so I'm a bit above novice. In two weeks I'll retire and hope to finally find time to bake bread periodically.

  • bangss  on  December 20, 2016

I'm very, very skilled… at bread machine loaf baking! *grin*

  • curafresh  on  December 21, 2016

    Skilled! =D

  • thecharlah  on  December 22, 2016

    Complete novice!

  • DoMaRe  on  December 25, 2016

Skilled, at least on the 5 or so breads that I regularly bake.

  • zschoppa  on  December 26, 2016

I would be dangerous when it comes to baking bread but my husband has had a passion to learn over the past year. He is becoming very skilled!

  • AliceJ  on  December 29, 2016

I am skilled, and still learning. I love baking bread and have been enjoying the education process.

  • JanScholl  on  December 31, 2016

Skilled. I took a class from a baker who was trained in France.

  • mpdeb98  on  December 31, 2016

Skilled but still need to learn some techniques.

  • FireRunner2379  on  January 1, 2017

I make a lot of pizza dough and soft pretzels but consider myself a novice when it comes to making loaves of bread. There is so much more I would love to learn, especially in the use of sourdough starters.

  • exploringfood  on  January 1, 2017

Out of practice is how I'd describe my bread-baking. I used to bake all of our bread, and I've got a stack of favorite recipes. Just bought some yeast the other day to get my hands into the thick of it again. Was always one of my favorite types of cooking/baking.

  • percussion03  on  January 1, 2017

Intermediate–lots of experience, but erratic dedication.

  • leorabakes  on  January 1, 2017

I'm skilled at cake, cookies and pizza, novice at pie and somewhere in between with bread.

I have been baking bread for years, but still consider myself a novice because I need more confidence in what I'm doing.

    I'd say novice to intermediate.
