    I love these Orange-Cardamom Cookies.
    http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/orange-cardamom-cookies-240927
They're a rolled-out cookie, and hold their shape really well. They taste better than a typical sugar cookie, though they are slightly more fragile. The combination of orange and cardamom is a favorite, but it's fun to mix and match different citrus and spices: lime and black pepper, grapefruit and star anise, orange and cinnamon..

Impossible to narrow down–depends on the mood! I have to give a nod, as a Midwesterner, to good old "monster" cookies. They have all the good stuff: oats, peanut butter, and chocolate!

  • sgump  on  November 13, 2016

Oh, such a challenging question! I'm a fan of zaletti–the not-too-sweet Venetian polenta cookies with raisins or currants. David Lebovitz adapted a recipe from Carol Field's *Italian Baker* here: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/zaletti-italian-cornmeal-cookie-recipe/.

Who doesn't love cookies?! For a quick and easy cookie, I like Amaretti cookies. (I use the recipes that do not have Amaretto.). Another almond-based favorite is, of course, macarons! I'm looking forward to reading and using this cookbook for my family.

I also keep up the tradition of making the spritz cookies at Christmas like grandma did (I inherited her cookie press) & sending them out to the kids, grandkids and friends…..
