Celebrating the Olympics
July 27, 2012 by LindsayWe’re celebrating the beginning of the Olympics with two articles from our friends at Serious Eats. Kenji Alt has concocted a “A Ring Shaped Meal for the Olympics” including recipes for Homemade Bagels, Guinness Onion Rings, Ring-Shaped Pasta with Broccoli and Tomato, Ring-Shaped Meatloaf, and Orange Blossom Bundt Cake with Peaches.
And for anyone lucky enough to be in London, Lauren Siciliano-Rosen has put together a slide show of 10 Must-Eat British Foods for visitors to eat during the Olympics, including some of their history and the best place to eat them. And even if you’re in London when the Olympics are gone, we think these definitely look like they’re still worth seeking out:
- Pie and Mash with Liquor Sauce
- Bacon Butty
- Chelsea Bun
- Sticky Toffee Pudding
- Toasted Cheese Sandwich
- Scotch Egg
- Kippers
- Roast Bone Marrow
- Potted Shrimps
- Meat fruit
