December 27, 2023 by JennyEnter our US/CA giveaway below to win one of three copies of A Very Chinese Cookbook: 100 Recipes from China and Not China (But Still Really Chinese) by Kevin Pang and Jeffrey Pang and America’s Test Kitchen.
A Very Chinese Cookbook: 100 Recipes from China and Not China (But Still Really Chinese) by Kevin and Jeffrey Pang and America’s Test Kitchen is the perfect book for someone who wishes to explore Chinese cuisine. The content is approachable and will provide dishes that will rival any takeout available.
Kevin Pang is a James Beard Award-winning food writer. At America’s Test Kitchen, Kevin is Editorial Director for Digital and host of the podcast, Proof. His father, Jeffrey Pang, is a retired businessman in the import-export industry. He’s also an amateur YouTube chef whose Chinese cooking channel was featured in The New York Times Magazine in 2016. Jeffrey is the co-star of Hunger Pangs with Kevin, a video series for America’s Test Kitchen.
In this title, storytelling meets foolproof technique as the father and son celebrate the joys of Chinese cooking. With an informative mix of humor and clear instruction, the Pangs show how to build a pantry, teach how to use a wok and cleaver, review popular brands of instant noodles, and offer a visual guide to dim sum. There are myriad photographs of technique (and when the father/son team have differing methods – there are side by side comparisons), photographs of finished dishes and recipes for all our favorite dishes – including Scallion pancakes, Sesame noodles, and Crispy orange beef.
