New Le Creuset + Nigella’s Easter Egg hunt

Today I discovered that Le Creuset dropped another color on us; this one is called Riviera, and it absolutely speaks to me. I thought Sea Salt was the perfect color to complement my kitchen cabinets, but this one would really pop against the more subdued blue-green paint. Damn you, Le Creuset! The company pairs Riveria with Sea Salt and Marseille for a coastal vibe, as shown in the photo below. It is my good fortune that I happen to own a lot of Sea Salt and one piece of Marseille. I can’t possibly fit another piece of kitchenware into my cabinets, so I will have to let something go if I decide to get a piece in this new color. (I’m looking at you, rectangular stoneware pan in a color that doesn’t match anything else.) And who doesn’t need another silicone spatula?! (If you shop at Le Creuset use our link. The reason I saw the bold new color was because of Nigella Lawson. She is running an Easter Egg Hunt contest on her website and the grand prize is a Signature Petal Brasier in Riviera. Runner-up prizes include signed copies of Feast. Nigella’s contest is fun to play: each day there is a new clue, and you search the recipes on the site using the clue to find and click on the Easter Egg. At the end of the week, if you have found all 7 eggs, your name will be entered into the contest. Don’t worry, you can catch up if you haven’t started already, and users of EYB are especially well-positioned to easily find the recipes containing the egg.

A perusal of the LC website and Amazon reveals that, at least for now, you cannot order a petal braiser in Riviera, so this contest seems to be the only route to owning it. The pan is available in Peche, Chiffon Pink, Provence, White, and Coastal Blue. Happy Easter Egg hunting!

    I have a single piece of Le Creuset, a tagine with a cast iron base and a stoneware dome in cobalt blue.

    But, I really have a question about that Le Creuset staple, the enameled cast iron dutch oven. I have a cast iron chicken fryer; a cast iron double dutch oven (reserved for bread making) and an Our Place titanium “Perfect Pot” (essentially a dutch oven). Do I need an enameled dutch oven, and if so why?

    After you shake things up finding this beautiful piece in the new colour, Darcie, you are simply going to have to build a new architectural “el” in/near your kitchen to display all the creamy coloured cooking vessels you own, with a backboard painted in “Riviera”. The creamy odd-fellow you have set sights on will be terribly disappointed if you don’t; hurt feelings forever. Lol

      Just to be clear, the photo is from the Le Creuset website, I only wish my kitchen were that dreamy! (Actually it never would be, I am not fond of open shelving).
