Gloagburn: Recipes from a Scottish Farm – Giveaway
February 4, 2026 by JennyEnter our US/UK giveaway to win one of two copies of Gloagburn: Recipes from a Scottish Farm by Alison Niven.

The Nivens have farmed the land at Gloagburn in Perth for over 100 years, rearing cattle and growing oats and barley. During that time the world of agriculture has immensely changed, and the family business has diversified along with it. Now, as well as the fields and livestock, the farm includes a thriving free-range egg business and a renowned cafe, deli and butchery. At the heart of it all is Alison Niven’s farmhouse kitchen, always open to the four generations of the family that live close by.
Gloagburn: Recipes from a Scottish Farm tells their story through classic, straightforward recipes straight from Alison’s Aga. Making the most of simple ingredients, including those produced on the farm, Alison shares her secrets for unfussy and delicious home cooking. From one-pot stews and casseroles to be slow-cooked in the oven, to beef stovies, tarts and twice-baked soufflé, these are hearty recipes to sustain busy family life. There are also featured recipes for the many biscuits, scones, slices and cakes that make the café so popular.
This book is also a ckbk title. There are also online recipes for you to try now:
I want to make so many recipes in this book and of course many of the baking ones. My oven has been out of commission now going on two weeks and I have not been able to bake! As soon as it is repaired or replaced, I will begin with the Malteser cake.
This book is beautifully done — cozy and approachable yet impressive. The bonus are the lovely photographs throughout.

Special thanks to the publisher for providing two copies of this title in our promotion – one copy for US Members, one copy for UK Members. Entry options include answering the following question in the comments section of this blog post.
