Dolci Italiani – Cookbook Giveaway
August 17, 2025 by JennyEnter our US/CA/UK giveaway to win one of two copies of Dolci Italiani: Desserts, Cakes & Other Sweet Bakes from Italy by Ursula Ferrigno.

Almost exactly a year ago, we featured a Quick Bites with Ursula and if you missed it – head over to that link to find our more about this prolific cookbook author.
Ursula’s latest cookbook is Dolci Italiani: Desserts, Cakes & Other Sweet Bakes from Italy which shares a collection of seventy delicious desserts that will impress all. The book’s chapters are set out as follows: cakes, tarts & sweet breads, small cakes, pastries & biscuits, desserts, ice cream & sorbets and lastly edible gifts. Before each section, the author shares details and photos about the particular subject covered. For example, heading the tarts & sweet breads chapter are two pages of photos and some background about how pastries are made in the villages of Italy.
Our features a selection of pages and the following

- Raspberry, orange, lemon & yogurt cake (Torta alla yogurt, limone, arancia e lampone)
- Rosemary & orange honey cake (Torta al miele arancia e rosmarino)
- Mini cream-filled buns (Maritozzi)
Other recipes include an Umbrian strudel, Lemon & vanilla cream pastries, Fig & grape crostata with hazelnut cream, Chocolate salami and Almond & pistachio biscotti.
I have always loved a lemon bread that was sold at our city’s farmer’s market. Thankfully, Ursula includes a recipe for lemon bread and I made. However, I took a shortcut and tossed the ingredients in my bread maker – to knead and proof. I then baked it in the oven and it was delicious – sharing a not so great photo below – but it was so good!

If you love all things Italian and especially desserts, this is the book for you!
